EVs as workhorses - the Nissan e-NV200

The Better NZ Trust just loves a good EV story, and what better than a commercial organisation telling us about their EV journey?

With the name of 1st Class Gardens it doesn't take a rocket-scientist to understand that these guys provide garden and lawn services across Tāmaki-makau-rau for both commercial and domestic clients.

As Chris Lange, the boss, explains "We've always had a focus on sustainability so back in 2016 we started with our first hybrid vehicle with the ultimate goal of using fully electric vehicles. In 2018 we were able to make the switch to EV by purchasing our first electric vehicle, the Nissan e-NV200. The difference in running costs of that first van were such that within 2 years of running it we were able to purchase a second identical van.

 

What is truly great is that our staff love them. They’re safe and yet zippy vans with great acceleration. With a quiet and comfortable ride, they’re a pleasure to drive while we do our bit for the environment. They do everything we need them to do, they really are the best work vans we’ve ever had.
